This oil represents the surroundings of the 'Pic Saint-Loup ', the mountain which can be seen in the background. Located around twenty kilometers from Montpellier, this emblematic mountain gave its name to one of the most famous vineyards in Languedoc (south of France). Treated in a minimalist way in tawny tones, this work was produced in superimposed glazes, a technique which gives depth and luminosity. The preparatory sketches and watercolors were made on site very close to Saint-Gély du Fesc where I live. This work, whose sides are painted black for presentation, is ready to hang. (It can be framed as in the last photos on request).
