Original artwork description:

This is a depiction of a mountain peak with its face half in shadow and half in light. It is the first in a series that attempts to paint mountains as if they were sitting for a portrait, poised, posed and still.

This piece is painted using indigo, white and blue black oil paints by Winsor and Newton and Old Holland. There are many layers of indigo, a transparent colour, that reveal darker and 'bluer' sides depending on the differing light that refracts in the layers. I have included an additional image of the painting that shows the bluer tones of the indigo.

The painting is on professional quality medium grain canvas and is on a deep edged 2 inch wooden stretcher with clean white edges. As such the piece could be hung as is or even propped up on a mantlepiece. It is signed on the reverse.

The painting will be packaged following best-practice guidelines and despatched by signed for and fully tracked and insured courier. The painting is signed on the reverse and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
