Original artwork description:

You may be wondering why this painting is titled "Motif No.1"? Bradley Wharf in Rockport, Massachusetts, and its replica of a former fishing shack, is well known in art history as "the most often-painted building in America." The original fishing shack was constructed in 1840 but destroyed in the Blizzard of 1978, then the exact replica was built the same year.
The shack became a favorite subject of painters of the Art Colony in Rockport as being a symbol of New England maritime life, and also due to its composition and lighting of its location.
The color contrast of the red building, the blue water and the blue sky is just amazing - a painter's dream.

Materials:
Oil on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.

This painting is listed unframed. It will require a frame to hang on the wall. It easily slots into a standard 12”x16” frame.
