I had always heard good things about Rockport MA and Gloucester but hadn't ever been there. So in the Fall of 2019 we made a road trip from the Mid-West all the way to Maine. I really enjoy painting fishing boats and anything fishing related. I started a watercolor of this scene early in the morning. The fishermen were getting ready to cast off and the seagulls were all excited about getting some fish to eat. The strong morning light on the sides of the buildings, piers, and even the bird were what motivated me to paint this piece. It is framed in a nice dark wooden frame with warm undertones and is ready to hang on your wall.
