Artwork description:

It was truly freezing in Hell Valley, Japan, where your fingers could turn blue even with gloves on. The snow monkeys were about, a few soaking in a naturally heated thermal pool. I singled out a high ranking female with her young one. Now and then she looked affectionately at her kid. The look was so reminiscent of someone I know, I had to get it right. So, I settled down and watched the pair for an hour, trying out various compositions mentally until hitting upon this one.

I have, of course, no idea what the two were thinking but I am tempted to wonder whenever I look at the finished print. After all, “Mothers are inscrutable beings to their sons, always” – A.E. Coppard.

This Giclee print is a colour print made on hannemuhle photo rag 308 gsm paper which has a very smooth surface. (Giclee describes a fine art printing process that combines pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper). My Giclee prints have an extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut.

Options: The print can also be made on C-Type Paper (matt or gloss), or C-Type Metallic/Velvet, or Giclee Canvas. It can also be printed at different sizes.
