Artwork description:

"Mother eel" is original handprinted linocut. Edition is made in 4 prints, of which only 2 are available. Big linocut plate is printed in dark blue color and special detail is made on sea shell with pastel pink color. Paper can be white or pastel beige.

Idea behind the work: I picked an octopus as highly intelligent creature as mind in this peace. It is places on top of the head on a female figure, which represents capability, intelligence, never-ending mind and commitment for family. The whole composition is representing sea shell pearl as the biggest sea treasure. Mother eel is the one owning the pearl and the whole marine life is connected to that treasure. Pears symbolize purity and beauty made by nature and the value of hidden things.

Please note that linocut print is original piece of art and it has different meaning than prints made and printed digitally.
Printmaking is traditional fine art technique that is producing multiple originals and all prints made in one edition are numbered and signed by the artist.
