Original artwork description:

The work is part of continuing series titled 'Shades of blue' in which I have adopted a new style and technique of using monochrome in mixed media approach. I rendered the work with light impasto and the work was inspired by the Madonna and Childs by the High Renaissance and Old Masters art and my aim is to infuse the above mentioned into an ideal contemporary style. The work explores the love relationship between mother and the child and its also a great reflection on motherhoods characters of strength, and resilience. Color blue to convey a sense of stability and i set my subjects against a bright orange background to bring out the mood. The mother represents nurture and the child represents innocence in growth. In essence the work pays homage to all the mothers who strive by all means to ensure that their children receive love ,compassion and support that is needed to ensure they have a better childhood and inherently grow up to be great.
