The painting is inspired from one of my many, many sketches. Slowly I am reaching into my trunk full of sketches, organizing them, and reworking them into paintings … and some into digital works. Many of my inspirations come from sitting and sketching in public places.…. such as this sketch of the people sitting nearby . Always is a challenge to get the basics done before people get up and walk away, leaving me to improvise the rest. Then the sketch is just a platform from which I let the paint express itself. The challenge is to put movement into the painting with colour and ‘splash’.
The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and the sketch. As you can see from my work table, I like to work a number of projects at a time.
