Artwork description:

Morning Walk is one of a suite of linocut prints exploring the activity of dogwalking in suburbia. In this series I use the process of relief printing to record the bond between humans and animals in an everyday environment.

I spend lots of time walking my local streets exercising our dog and this activity provides the inspiration for my art work, which starts with a simple line drawing recalling incidents on route from memory.

The bold graphic effects are achieved by using a number of linoleum blocks and opaque and transparent colour inks.

The cutting process begins by transfering my drawing onto the linoleum with red carbon paper and carving into the surface intuitively with sharp lino cutting tools.

A unique handmade print using a traditional Albion platen press to transfer the image from linoleum onto smooth Fabriano 200gsm acid free paper.

This print is designated TP (Test Print) and is titled and signed in pencil, protected with glassine tissue paper and sealed in a cellophane pocket. Carefully rolled and packed in a sturdy triangular tube, insured, tracked and guaranteed next working day delivery within the UK and 2 to 3 working days for Europe, 3 - 5 days Globally, so that it arrives safely and in perfect condition.

Paper Size: 50 x 36 cm
Image size 42 x 29.7 cm
