This scene is from the town of Fabriano in Italy that I visited a few years ago to participate in the Annual International Watercolor Festival there. Incidentally, one of the very popular brands of watercolour paper is manufactured there and gets its name from the name of the place – Fabriano. This particular place in the painting was very close-by from where I was staying and was on the way to the exhibition venue. The crisp morning light and the strong shadows in this scene inspired me to paint this piece. This is painted on fabriano cold-pressed 300 gsm paper using artist-grade watercolour paints.
