Original artwork description:

"The Rhythm of My City" is a series of three paintings depicting the author's native city of Kryvyi Rih (Ukraine), which he sees through his own contemplations. In this series of paintings, the author successfully conveys the rhythm of the city's life, its architectural elements and the people who live in it.

The first painting, "Morning on the 96th Quarter" depicts the morning rhythm of the city. It depicts a cafe and people who met before work, as well as people who pass by in a hurry to work or to classes at the university, a courier who puts the first order in the trunk of his scooter and will take the order. The inspirational place for this painting was a place located between the 95th and 96th blocks, which used to be a pizzeria, a place where the morning is never quiet. I tried to convey the static architecture and added the dynamics and energy of this place through people.

The second painting, "Fountain on Postal Avenue", conveys the quiet and cosy atmosphere of the places I visited during my student years. It depicts a picturesque street with a coffee shop on the left and a fountain on the right, where people go about their daily lives. An old man is sitting on a bench relaxing and enjoying the weather, a little girl on the left is riding a bicycle to chase away pigeons. I convey the atmosphere of this place with the help of lines that gently knit different elements of the picture together.

The last painting "Vacation Day on Postal Avenue" conveys the vivacity and cheerfulness of a city street where children and adults spend their free time. The painting depicts a large, wide road that is blocked from traffic every Saturday so that people can walk along a wide avenue where kids play and parents can relax and enjoy quiet moments. Someone walks their dog, someone buys a ball for their child, and someone feeds the pigeons.
