Original artwork description:

One of my favourite landscapes in the UK, the National Trust-managed High and Over (or Frog Firle) that overlooks the Cuckmere Valley near Alfriston East Sussex. This is the view looking towards Alfriston and Littlington which I have painted a few times but there is also a fabulous view towards Cuckmere Haven where the river reaches the sea, also painted a few times! This picture shows the valley during the winter floods when the almost abstract curves of the river are at their best, the morning lighting is from my imagination as I have never made it there yet early enough to see this!

Materials used:

gessoed board with acrylic underpainting, oils on top
