Garrapata State Park's hiking trails provide access to both the beautiful Big Sur coastline and the breathtaking Santa Lucia Mountains and lie within a short drive of Carmel. The views of spectacular coastline are largely hidden from the road, seen only by those who take to its trails. This painting will give you a preview and a virtual tour of this beautiful coastline.
This is a gouache painting on on 140 lbs 100% cotton cold pressed watercolor paper, mounted on Sintra panel.
Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant, because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.

The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall.
No glass needed when framing, as the painting is protected with coats of archival varnish. Images showing the artwork in home interiors are for presentation only. Frame is not included.
