Painting: Oil on canvas

"When working on this picture, I kept a diary to record my impressions and transmit them on canvas.

From the artist's diary: "Today I decided to come and paint a picture of a pond with a boat very early. The sun is rapidly rising higher and higher, the lighting is changing, I need to work very quickly, I need to have time to keep the feeling of the early morning... But the beautiful picture that appeared in front of my eyes made me stop for a second, and I admired: what a wealth of flowers and shades are around me right now! The rays of the sun touch and illuminate the treetops and generously pour a glade behind the pond. But the pond itself seems to be beyond time, it has not awakened from sleep yet, nature has frozen in anticipation of the sun. However, I can already see how the sun breaks through in the background, how it tears up cosy twilight... and everything begins to play, shine, the paints are lit, the light dances from branch to branch, from tree to tree. But closer to me, the shadows are still deep, saturated. Beautiful fleeting state of nature. Clouds are crossing the sky - I see them perfectly in the reflection of water. The grass next to me is covered with dew, awakening plants from a dream: waking up from a nap, they begin to reach for the sun... It's still cool and fresh..."
