Original artwork description:

I woke up very early one autumn morning and decided to walk up the valley to see the light effects of the rising sun across the landscape. I was greeted with this amazing golden light which picked out the mountains in the distance with the fields and church nestling just in front of the hedgerow. I had to be very quick with my sketchbook to capture the quality of the light before it become more yellow and less intense in nature.


On returning to the studio I worked on the composition and started to produce the final artwork. It certainly lifts one's mood to see the beauty of light in nature.

Morning Colours has a partner painting Golden Light. Morning Colours is a more expressionistic style painting. Both paintings bring out slightly different characteristics of the morning as I gazed upon this scene.
