A double sided stone-carving in limestone of a woman's face representing Morning and Evening or Night andDay: one side eyes open and the other side eyes closed. Her hair flows around and merges at one side.
Some of the photographs show the carving standing by little potted beeches outside my studio in the summer.
Because I live in Northern climes, to avoid frost damage I bring her indoors in the winter; I like to turn her face to the east in the morning and to the west as the evening draws in.
One photo shows her eyes closed with a little night light burning below her.
The carving is initialled on the base "PM 06"
I was thrilled to be a recipient of an Arts Council Award to learn stonecarving in 2004 and I enjoy working in this wonderful medium, especially in local Lincolnshire limestone.
Freestanding at 12 inches high. Packed securely. Sent by Tracked delivery
