This painting suggests that truth is elusive, that memory exists but is is imperfect, that dreams exist but they are ephemeral. Each painting contains a story but the story is suggested rather than overt. They are each an effort to tap into a shared, pre-language, aesthetic. They stem from my love of ancient texts, maps, and symbols, particularly those that have been enhanced by the patina of age,
