Morabeza is not just nostalgia (saudade in Portuguese, or sodade in Creole) linked to family, friends, to the native country, but it is something more than the feeling that the person feels at the memory of his own world, at the memory of his roots . This feeling permeates the lives of those who have emigrated and who dream of returning despite their land having removed them because it is poor in resources. Yet every Cape Verdean emigrated as soon as he can afford it, he returns and the feeling that binds him to those who have remained at home, to the land, is always alive and unchanged-
