Deep purples, a silhouetted stone cross and dramatic clouds make up this scene from the Yorkshire Moors. Late summer sees the hillsides covered in the mauves and purples of heather which adds to the appeal of this part of England. Here the light makes dramatic tonal contrasts in the land and the sky.
