Old Town Hoi An (Vietnam), the city's historic district, is recognized as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. In 1999, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Its grand architecture reflects a unique blend of influences, both indigenous and foreign. Without any airport, and train station,... modern traffic and pollution are almost entirely absent in Hoi An.
Walking across the old town Hoi An at night under the moonlight causes a special indescribable nostalgic feeling which inspired the artist.
