This is the painting of a street in my neighbourhood in Mill Hill, North London. I often walk the dog there in the evening and I love the piece and quiet of evenings in London suburbia, the empty streets, the slightly mysterious feel to it brought in by the moonlight and the night sky; but also the calm, muted colours, and accentuated contrasts between light and dark - the lit up trees and houses, and the shadows elsewhere. Everyone can see in it what they want to see. For me - it is a space to breathe and to reflect about another passing day...
