Moonlight - Dream landscape - oil on canvas - medium size - 60X60 cm

I love the oneiric atmosphere of this night scene.
When I was a child, I was fascinated by the full moon, appearing through the clouds. For a little girl, it was strange and a little bit scary.
Now, full moon is for me THE splendor of the night.
I've painted this night scene evocation with very few pure transparent french Sennelier and Old Holland oil colors : strong Schveningen blue, transparent Chinese orange, and the full moon like a pure white dot. The only pure white is for the moon.
As I wanted to keep a quite strange atmosphere, little fantastic, like a dream, I've worked on the painting background with a lot of mixed media technics : dripping solvant on nearly dry painting, and then, removed the diluted painting to create some forms, and new tonalities. So, those little light dots appeared to me like fireflies, or fairies...
I've also used a few Sennelier Oil Pastels, but shhh ! It's a secret...

The painting is varnished and signed on the front.
This artwork is ready to hang.
