Original artwork description:

“Moon Turn The Tides, Gently, Gently Away” is an acrylic on canvas painting 72cmsW x102cmsH x3.5cmsD framed in solid pine wood. The painting continues the series of land, sea and sky. It takes its name from a Jimi Hendrix composition of the same name. The painting is inspired by the moonlight as dawn is breaking. The darkness of night is lifting and moonlight floods the beach. Please see the photographs that document this inspirational setting. This painting intends to capture the dramatic atmosphere of a rainy morning just as dawn is breaking. Shafts of light cascade onto the wet beach reflecting the glowing light. The tides ebb away. This isn’t a literal painting. It doesn’t attempt to replicate a ‘scene’, but it does try to capture the atmosphere of an open coastal landscape. I look to artists such as Barbara Rae, Turner, the Fauvists and Monet and the Post-Impressionists for inspiration. The painting is shipped in a robust custom made cardboard crate (same as those used to transport large screens). The painting is bubble wrapped to protect the canvas. Further wrapping is made with corrugated card. A wooden frame is placed inside the cardboard crate to preserve the structural strength of the packaging. Each painting is insured to its sale value. Shipping costs within the U.K. take into consideration weight and insurance. U.K. shipping costs for this artwork are £90
