In 2015 it saw terrorist outrages and gun battles with the police. Mysterious Armenian paper is made here but there is also hard-headed banking operations, a telecommunications headquarters and aeronautical engineering. Pablo Picasso had a studio here and the sculptor Guillaume Werle presently lives and works here.
