On the slopes of Montmartre, that corner of Paris where life is lived at an angle, and the shadows swathe the narrow streets in perpetual dusk. Life lived overlooking the city of lights, life lived in gables and small flats with creaking floorboards. Book-lined walls, dinners with candlelight, doors closed as night falls. Cosy city life. By day, commuters walk down steep steps, shoppers head to small shops. A woman is walking her baby, unaware of the towering tenements and the parcel of sky.
The work is on a 0.4 inch canvas and can therefore hang without framing if wished.
A lovely gift, a lovely memento of Paris.
