Inspired by a photograph taken, at day break, in Monterey Bay, California.

The sunlight had just peaked above the horizon, the sea was gently lapping the shore and the waterside restaurant was in a half light. The rocks and sand were in muted browns which was wonderful contrast to the sky and its reflections in the sea.

The perfect start to a day!

Monterey Morning is a one block reduction Lino print. The image is drawn on artist Lino, and then the first colour is printed with ink onto paper. Anything you wish to keep this colour is carved off the Lino, and you print again. You do this repeatedly, until the image appears. I did this approximately 14 times, for this print.

The print will arrive flat backed by card and wrapped in cellophane. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, which also explains the process.
