Abruzzo, one of the greenest Italian regions in Europe, is crossed by a mountain range, the Apennines.
These mountains divide part of Italy in two. In this shot I photographed a typical view of the Abruzzo landscape: imposing mountains surrounded by cultivated hills, olive trees and small villages.
The name of the mountain in the photo is Monte Camicia, and it is part of the Gran Sasso d'Italia promontory, one of the most imposing mountains in Italy.
This photo is part of a small series of shots of the mountains of Abruzzo.
The print has a Selenium toning.
The toning procedure gives the print a special colour due to the chemicals surrounding the silver halides in the paper (the image itself).
The toning also serves to protect the silver from atmospheric agents, giving it a longevity of over 100 years.
