Montagnac and Montpezat are two sleepy towns on the Verdon river with turquoise water above the Barrage at Quinson. The water worn rocks of the gorge record angrier times when the river was a major subterranean artery to the Mediterranean. Now again with water lapping their smooth surfaces they hold submerged standing trees and a glimpse of a slightly younger past.
Although finished round the edges and ready to hang, this painting would benefit from framing.
