Monsoon waterlilies, watercolours on 270gsm textured paper. When the sky is dark even the brilliant hues of water lilies look subdued! Light can make or mar a colour!!
I wanted to create this effect in my painting and can say I have succeeded to a great extent!

I paint water lilies without any preliminary drawing or planning. All my water lilies in watercolour are free-hand types and I go with the flow to complete the painting. It is indeed a great meditative experience for me.

What is the signature speciality of the waterlilies and lotuses?
They grow in stagnant water, obviously not very clean, but they are so pure!
But they do not show the slightest sign of that, they stand for purity, they are a sheer visual pleasure!

Whatever the mental turmoil, let's rise above it as fresh and pure as these lovely flowers! Everything in nature has something to teach us, what life is all about! To live in harmony with mother nature!
