Another painting from the archives! This idea is inspired from my time spent at a temple in eastern Thailand. Wat Pananachat is a well known forest monastery, with English as its main working language. I was fortunate to spend a month there serving the monks, meditating, etc. It also ignited the idea to draw the robes, monks, a theme I still like to come back to every now and again. Here is an early attempt in 3 versions. This is the richly coloured version. There is also a softer version, and a rough in black ink on a textured handmade paper. Each is posted separately.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It is a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture of the paper and brush strokes of the painting.
Please note that you can purchase in one order up to 3 paintings of this same size (small painting category) or smaller to be included in the same 1 shipping fee.
Packaging for my small paintings like this one is sealed in plastic sleeve, in a padded hard plastic file case, and envelope.
