Acrylic colour on a Fabriano raw (Rosaspina) watercolour paper 39 x 28 in. 99 x 71 cm
I enjoy working in this bigger size where I can further play with the colours, and the colours are so bright on this paper. And it’s just the right absorbency for a raw paper.
This project is about colours and moving it around with water. The monks act as a focus (as in life …) and I get to create the mood. I got really carried away with this project and the whole thing came together rather quickly.
The close up pictures give a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress and me with the painting for perspective.
