Original artwork description:

I am fascinated by monkeys, even though I was bitten by one as a child!
Their mischief and human expressions are compelling, and I have painted them many times. This picture came about from a series of sketches I did of two different species and then married them together with a still life pyramid.
Somehow the colours of the monkeys and the richness of the fruit blend seamlessly and complement each other. I also used very thick paint in parts to give texture, the roughness of the leaves against the softness of the fur.
Who doesn't love monkeys?
