An abstracted landscape built using heavy brush marks, palette knife, and a rich array of pastels inspired by Monet's Waterlilies painting at the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City. Thick pastel brush marks are built on top of each other creating a smooth interplay between light and color.

12" x 12" oil painting on birch, with sides that are 1 1/2" deep.

Materials used:

oil paint on birch board, cradled to hang 1.5 inches deep off the wall
