This painting follows a dream where a grey square painting had a yellow rectangle positioned in the lower left section. So, being obsessed with prime numbers, I devised a way I could divide my canvas using proportioned areas from 1 to 24. Number 1 is black and each prime area from 2 to 23 is given a colour. All the non-prime areas mergeas the grey background. The values increase 1 to 6 left to right, then 7 to 12 right to left, 13 to 18 left to right and 19 to 24 right to left.
The formal composition reminded me of a Mondrian, hence the title - but I've obviously departed from his colours and flat, non-textured surfaces.
