Monastary on the Hill , Oct. 1998,
graphite on acid free Faber-Castell watercolour paper 180gms , 7.5 x 10.5 in 18.5 x 26 cm, work 6 x 9 in., 15 x 22.5 cm.
This goes back to my days in Myanmar (Burma). I went there researching Buddhist monasticism. Along the way I also ordained for a temporary period , though could not stay on due to health issues. But along the way I was greatly moved by my experiences, the scenery, the people. This work is inspired by my time there.
