Original artwork description:

‘MOLYVOS BEACH’ is an acrylic painting 28x20 cms on 300gms canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35x28cms. The painting can be transferred to a larger mount if preferred. Please see the pictures where the painting is shown in a glazed frame 56x45cms and can be purchased at an increased shipping cost, if preferred. ‘Molyvos Beach’ is a fleeting memory of a special location, situated beneath the castle at Molyvos on the island of Lesvos. The painting is an abstract interpretation of this location with occasional figurative elements, inspired by the intensity of light, the depth of shadow and the brightness of colour. The beach was never populated with more than eight or so people. Hot soft sand , spacious and quiet, almost silent. The softer colours in the painting recall three figures reclining and standing at the end of a beach overlooked by a weathered rock facade. The painting is charged with complex spatial inventions.
