Original artwork description:

This work is the first - and currently the largest - in a new series of landscape artworks focussing in particular on trees - their resilience, life, and dogged persistence, it moves me! And it’s a new way of presenting my work - it’s a hanging. I’ve been learning traditional Japanese hanging techniques, tweaking it a little to suit the canvas on which I create my art.

I used a variety of art disciplines in creating this artwork - I’m happy to employ many art forms, including painting (in inks and acrylics), drawing (in pencil and pastel), photography, printing and digital art apps (iPad, pc and Mac). This is my approach to all my artworks nowadays - I keep working at my images, creating and undoing, until I’m satisfied. A lifetime of creating sculptures, glass, and painted and drawn works on paper and fabric has served to give me an exciting set of skills that I love to combine and which results in works that I’m really proud to offer to you.

This work was originally drawn in pastels on my iPad, based on a photo taken in Holland years ago, then overpainted in digital oils and inks before being transferred to canvas, stretched and hung on a spruce hanger, physically overpainted in ink, and signed both on the front and back. It’s then rolled and tied with a ribbon, Japanese-style, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity, sent in a tube ready to be hung on your wall.

VAT on this artwork is included in the shipping cost shown where it’s due in your country.
