Misty Spring morning
White light appearing,
Deep green,
Cold and damp,
Quiet reflection,
Walking the river path.

Words and feeling of being near the River stour in the North Dorset.
Original expressive watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper Saunders Waterford, 300 gsm 140lb.
I used a three colour technique and wet on wet washes. I created the slits of light in the sky by not wetting the paper all over. I loved using my bushy hogs hair brush for this technique. For the rivers edge and tree etc I had to keep applying more of the same colour that I had made, mixing all three colours yellow, blue and red to achieve this. I dabbed and pressed the paint on the wet on wet backwash to achieve the ethereal and atmospheric tree detail.
My inspiration is being by the river in early March and being with nature.
