A textured Deep Impasto palette knife painting in oil by an award winning San Francisco Bay artist, featuring a colorful and textured seascape painting.



This painting was inspired by one of my Plein Air (outdoor) painting trips to the gorgeous California seaside town of Pacific Grove. On a misty and atmospheric morning I sat quietly enjoying the marine layer fog dancing around the ocher cliffs, and captured the scene with my palette knives. Back in my studio in the San Francisco Bay, I scaled it up larger, and I love how the blues of Cerulean, Prussian, Ultramarine and Turquoise play together to create incredible texture and movement.
