"Misty Evening on the Water" is an abstract painting that draws its inspiration from the serene and enigmatic beauty of nature's water landscapes at dusk.
The work is a homage to the subtle interplay of light and shadow, where the day's last light dances with the emerging night.
It is inspired by the works of the Impressionists, who captured the fleeting moments of natural light with their bold brushstrokes and vivid colors.
As the viewer gazes at the painting, I hope that they will be transported to a place of introspection and calm, where the worries of the day dissolve into the misty waters. Mostly I want the viewer to feel a sense of peace when they engage with my painting.
The choice of painting on board as a medium is new to me, and I've found it very receptive to my style of working. The texture of the oil paint allows for expressive brushwork and layering, and using wooden board as a surface provides interesting stability, and allows me work with renewed confidence.
