Original artwork description:
I produced several pieces of work whilst in lockdown last year and this is one. I wanted to create a larger than my usual size piece and using a limited palette. I'm not sure why I wanted to work in near monochrome, but my palette will often reflect my emotions, so perhaps I was just feeling the need to use the gorgeous Asphaltum paint, which I had recently bought.
A couple of years ago I visited India and stayed with friends in a homestead close to the foothills of the Himalayas. This piece reminds me of that lovely time.
