Original artwork description:

Sad songs — some evoke extremely melancholic states of mind without losing their dance beat and with a catchy melody to boot. This paintings wants to lip-synch to that famous 1990’s Todd Terry Club Mix version of Everything But The Girl’s hit song. Let’s just say that it hopes to be a visual equivalent.

On an empty beach at low-tide, the wet sand is imprinted with the moiré pattern of the receded waters, stretching across the lower left is a shadow that spans from the center of the diptych. The person casting this shadow is missing.

This is a diptych composed of two separate linen canvases, each measuring 81 x 60 cm, braced together by stainless steel fixations.

Materials used:

Oil on two linen canvases braced together with metal fixations
