Original artwork description:

This image is part of a series of images drawn using a Japanese brush pen and ink. The images are of Libyan men who went missing under the regime of Gaddafi. I drew this images in response to the situation that was happening at the time, highlighting to remember those who had previously stood up to this dictator's regime, at a time when mostly others were too afraid to stand up - waiting for a time in the future for the opportune moment to rise up and succeed due to the surrounding countries also rising up because of 'leaked' information via Wiki-leaks and the increasing availability of social networking and sharing of previously classified information in countries who seemed to be locked into a dictatorship regime. These become symbolic of those who fight for the right to be free and set a new path for others to follow many years later. In some small way I highlight their voice where it no longer exists, yet an image can say a thousand words.
