A beautiful Peahen I encountered on a trip to Brownsea Island.The place id full of them and I had the opportunity to see these lovely creatures real up close. This painting has been done from one of the many pictures taken on that day.
Peahens have a drab brown body- so I decided to focus on the neck , which is the most colorful part.The painting has been done in a combination of loose and tight- with the details in the head and neck more visible than the rest of the body.
The impressionism is aided with salt texture,drips and spatters which are an integral pat of the painting.
I have added a few close up shots for detail.
