Original artwork description:

This painting gives an up to date image of an actress of the Victorian era using contemporary photographs as a starting point. This exercise was initiated by my curiosity for the period in which my grandparents lived and an admiration for the images of the time.
The painting is mainly executed in oil with collage added for the tail of the hat. The background is in acrylic, gold over red.
