In Venice, while some of the canals were very busy with gondolas plying on them, this one, in particular, seemed to be undisturbed for quite some time. It wouldn't be long before some gondola arrived on the scene. I was intrigued by the mirror-like reflections in those still waters and wanted to paint them.
