Original artwork description:

Do you know that the Dutch tulip originates in another country and not in the Netherlands? 🌷🌷🌷

It reached The Netherlands only at the end of the 16th century. And during a period of starvation in World War II, eating tulip bulbs saved thousands of lives!!
.
The tulip originates from the Ottoman-Empire (what we now know as Turkey). The area in central Asia what we know now as Turkey. .

Tulips grew as wild-flowers in central Asia and brought to the attention of the Suleiman I, also known as Suleiman, the Magnificent; the longest-reigning sultan of the Ottoman Empire. He ordered the cultivation of these wildflowers for his pleasure and got them planted in several gardens. The tulips, thus quickly became a symbol of wealth in the Ottoman Empire.

The tulip got its name because it looked like a turban. The wealthiest Ottomans even wore tulips on their Turbans. The name Tulip is derived from the Persian word Tulipan, which means turban!!

And there is a beautiful garden of tulips in our own Kashmir which beats the famous Tulip gardens of Holland! And Kashmir is one place I want to visit before I die, to feel the "heaven" during my lifetime since I am not sure if I will go to "heaven" after this mortal life😂😂
