Collagraph print with Chine Colle

Chine Colle is where tissue paper or any other thin paper is applied to the printing plate before going through the printing press. You lightly apply paste glue to the upper side of the tissue. You then place a plain piece of paper over the top and roll it through the press. I love this technique as the sky is the limit on what paper you can introduce to your print.


Printed on 370gsm cartridge paper .

A Collagraph print is one made from a plate with different textures. The printing plate is made from mount board. The process is a combination of intaglio and relief.

I created a collage of my image using fabrics, glues adhesive and then sealed and dried before printing. The beauty of this process is the way all the colours merge together when printed and no image will ever be the same.
