They say habit is second nature. In fact, habit is first nature.
We often associate ourselves with our thoughts, but we are not them. We are not our names and not our professions. We are not our purpose or mission. All this is the mind. It envelops our entire being and our eyes are closed. Here the snakes tempt us. Christians describe the 7 deadly sins. In fact, there is only one sin - keeping your eyes closed. We eat while we sleep. We kill in unconsciousness. We steal without realizing it. As long as the subtle snakes of the mind swarm before our closed eyelids, we are ignorant. We are in sin. We've gotten dirty on our long journey. We only know our mind and do not know about our nature, that is why we live in hell for so long. Trees know their nature. The birds know. People are too smart for that. We so eagerly enjoy our suffering, our mistakes, our shame and doubts. This will go on forever until maybe just one human animal opens its eyes.
