Paint and Ink on Wood.
As an artist and designer I truly admire a texture of natural materials. When I spot an interesting object, abandoned on the streets of London, I do everything I can to bring it home and transform it into a painting / collage or installation.
In this case I have adopted a narrow wood panel and painted it with water based paint. The main theme is based around my own botanical studies of Milk Thistle (Silybum Marianum) at Kew Gardens. It is used in traditional Chinese medicine to clear heat and relieve toxic material, to soothe the liver and to promote bile flow.
Colour Palette
English Heritage Little Green water based paints: Spearmint 202; Cupboard Green 201; Aquamarine 138; Shirting 129 and Basalt 221.
